"The Right Stuff at the Wrong Time"

At the start of the Space Age, thirteen female  pilots were tested by NASA Dr. William Lovelace to see if they had the "right stuff" for space travel. Dr. Nicolee shared the story of these women, including two from Michigan who passed - or excelled in - the same tests undertaken by the famous "Mercury 7" astronauts, but were denied the  opportunity to fly in space.

The Impacts of Food on the Study and Presentation of History

Amber Bader will explore the influences of food on american kitchen culture and the possible impacts that food offers to modern historian and historical venues.  The study and sharing of this information can result in engaging narratives, stories and hands on activities.
